And then the inevitable switch is flipped, and you guessed it...everyone's in love. Also, I couldn't wrap my head around how all the characters handled the topic of cheating...whether reacting to it, having it inferred or participating in it. As though the act can be so easily explained? PLEASE NOTE: There is no actual present day cheating in this book. The mystery/suspense aspect of the book? Not the circumstances. Not the handling of it. Not the escalation. Definitely not Jack and Morgan's initial getaway. So what was good about the book? I'll tell you... Ms. Black, you can write one hell of a drawn out, deliciously wicked sex scene! And there you have my ramblings. Will I continue on with the series? Possibly? Maybe?

Warning: This book contains a whole lot of graphic sex, including but not limited to BDSM, menage and anal play. It is absolutely not for the faint of heart. The most awful saddest part about this book is that every review I've read says the others in the series are nowhere near as good. It's such a shame because it definitely leaves you with the urge to run out and buy more books by Shayla Black, but I'm not going to force myself through the series and ruin where I've currently left off with the author. And, let's just say, we are on very good terms with each other. Erotic fiction, for me, can easily get a 3 or 4 star rating as long as it does its job right and fulfills its purpose. A 5 star rating, on the other hand, means that the book really impressed me. Which Wicked Ties most definitely did. There was a lot of sex, naturally, but there was also a very touching development of love between two people. I can see why BDSM erotica when the woman is the sub can easily be viewed as degrading to women. Some will ask "how can a love story be found in BDSM?" But Jack doesn't see Morgan as inferior or weak... he acknowledges her as an independent woman who just so happens to have an adventurous sexual appetite. Some people see BDSM as a lifestyle and that's something I've never understood. I find it hot as long as it remains well within the bedroom and in the realms of sex. I think sex can separate from the rest of a person's life and I also think allowing someone to have control in the bedroom doesn't mean they get to dictate what you do outside of it. I'm sure there are plenty of powerful people, heads of huge corporations, billionaires, heads of state... that like giving up the reins in their sex life. Oh shit, now I'm imagining the Queen getting handcuffed by Prince Philip... You don't think he wears that hat to bed, do you? I seem to have lost myself on one of those tangents again. Back to the book. I really enjoyed reading the development of the relationship between Jack and Morgan. I found it touching that he managed to get her to open up about her past when previous lovers had been disgusted with her for suggesting they trying something a little different. But the best thing about this novel is that there is actually a proper story going on here behind the sexytime. Morgan is being harrassed by a mysterious stalker who has even gone so far as to break into her home, send her photos of herself in various places, follow her across the country, and eventually try to shoot her. That's where Jack steps in as he can't resist the pull to protect her... and other stuff. It's a good love story and it's also very hot. I honestly mean it when I say proceed with caution if you're not usually into kink.

When I started this book I figured it would be just another sexy read by Shayla Black. WOW! Was I ever wrong! Not about the “sexy read” part, but about the “just another” part of the “sexy read” comment. Jack Cole is a bodyguard, an alpha male and self proclaimed Dominant. He’s given the opportunity to appear on a cable sex talk show and discuss his sexual proclivities with Morgan O’Malley, the skeptical host of the show. She’s not buying into the whole Dom/sub thing, and Jack's hints that she might actually like it if she tried it. She expected to have to deal with an arrogant, bossy male at their first meeting at a trendy, outdoor cafe, but what she wasn’t expecting was to be shot at. Things quickly go from fun and games, to life or death, but lucky for her, Jack knows his stuff and gets her safely out of the crosshairs. So, this is where the story really takes off as Jack does whatever he has to, to both protect and seduce Morgan. Having been instantly captivated by the story and finding Jack so incredibly attractive, I was surprised by my reaction to Morgan, who I think was just ok. I didn’t “connect” with her on any level, really and I often found her more than a tad annoying. However Jack…*sigh* … Jack was amazing. I can’t even put my finger on what it was about him that was so compelling, so demanding, so… perfect. When reading an erotic book like this I don’t expect much in the way of storyline or character development but I have to say that Wicked Ties has it all. Fantastic story, amazing characters, incredible sexual tension… I couldn’t put it down and in fact, Wicked Ties turned out to be one of my favorite reads in a very long time and Jack Cole has a place of honor on my Top Heroes reading shelf. Sexual Content: Yes. That is to say, this book contains just about everything except m/m.

I am having trouble finding the words to express how much I hated this book. I knew that this was basically supposed to be a sexy book and not great literature, but even by those standards, it failed. How could a book with this much sex manage to be so boring? I knew that this was basically supposed to be a sexy book and not great literature, but even by those standards, it failed. How could a book with this much sex manage to be so boring? Morgan: I have never wanted to get out of a character's head this badly before. The constant, repetitive inner monologues about whether her relationship with Jack was a good idea or not and whether it made her a whore or whatever were *killing* me, especially after she had already had sex with him a few times - she really didn't have so much at stake at that point that it should have been quite such an agonizing decision each. and. every. time. he put a hand on her. Also, nothing throws cold water on a hot scene like a character going on and on about what their mother would think of it. This sexually repressed woman supposedly talks about sex on TV for a living? Jack: What an ass. Being inside his head was no picnic either. Totally manipulative, and I really didn't see a whole lot on the positive side to redeem him. He wasn't even a very good bodyguard. He spent way to much time in angst-filled inner monologues too, to the point where it seemed like it would be noticeable if you were in the room with him; like someone would ask him a question and he'd be sitting there staring off into space for 10 minutes trying to sort out his thoughts (the SAME thoughts every time of course) and I'd picture the other character patiently waiting for an answer and maybe glancing at their watch. The sex scenes might have been good if the characters had just stopped thinking so much and gotten into it (if you are thinking about your mom and your past relationships how into it can you be?) and the D/S sexual discovery theme actually had some interesting ground to cover but was lopsided - way overdeveloped on some ways and underdeveloped on others and of course repetitive as hell. The love relationship seemed unconvincing - I definitely got that they were sexually compatible, and that's great, but after 3 days of fucking and fighting they are in love with a capital L? Even better, they couldn't possibly know this without fulfilling every single fantasy she has ever had in one weekend? I totally get that in order to fit 50 sex scenes into a book you have to take some serious liberties with the plot (and this one is paper thin) but this one just had me rolling my eyes. "The woman in the dream had red hair? OMG what a coincidence - Morgan has red hair! If she has red hair, she must be the woman in the dream!" Ack - I wanted to hurl this one across the room.

The "hero" I have no words to explain how much this book made me cringe, wince and roll my eyes. What makes it worse is the fact that the start and the blurb were pretty good and I started to have hopes for it, but they were trampled to death. Furthermore the word choices were just WRONG: who the hell says "his stalk", or another great example "muscle slabs"; yes, both of them in regard to sex, I don't find them sexy or alluring or attractive, just the contrary! When anyone says "slab" my mind jumps to a dead cow or the morgue, I can't help it! All in all: On a side note, this was a good way to let go of my stress.

DAYUM!! Wicked Ties is probably one of the better BDSM books that I’ve read. No butt plugs in sight! It was scorching HOT, but still had a lot of heart in it too. I don’t usually care for heroines in a lot of erotica romance novels, but I found that I really liked Morgan. She’s intelligent and industrious, but still vulnerable in her sexuality. Having a sicko stalker masturbate in her bed is disgusting! And those photos were damn creepy too. For her safety, she spends a few days with Jack Cole, a bodyguard and the man who is swoon-worthy, no scratch that, SCREAM-WORTHY! Yeah, Jack is definitely a Dom who knows what he’s doing. That’s probably the biggest understatement. Also, I LOVED DEKE! It’s rare for me to care about secondary characters, especially in an erotica, but Deke sure made a BIG impression on me with his charms and um...performance! I love him! In addition to the scorching hot sex scenes, I loved the whole stalker investigation and the ending was GREAT! What a way to end a book! I can’t wait to read more Decadent.

Ooooooooh boy. This made me get more books by Shayla Black from the library because that woman can write one steamy sex scene. Not to mention a whole book full. I'm not sure about this one... It had all the characteristics of a classic romance novel with the added twist of the D/s relationship between the main characters and a dose of crime/thriller just to make things a little more interesting. There were just too many of them and they were somewhat annoying and tiring. Plus, I found the whole "revenge" situation pretty weak and kinda boring. I'm sure the author could have found another, a tad more original, way to bring Morgan and Jack together. But still, this remains a hot read with an even hotter male hero and I will probably be reading the next book in the series.

2.5 stars Only one thing could stop me from liking Jack Cole and that is his petty attempt to get back at Brandon Ross, a good guy, as it turns out, (who is Jack almost stupidly seeks vengeance from) but hell...that is the main plot of the book, and though already a flimsy premise, it is weakened by a subplot of a stalker being after the heroine/damsel in distress, Morgan, and another subplot that just screams that this story is doing way too much. Guessing the stalker was somewhat easy when narrowed down to three of Morgan's past lovers, and then the secondary subplot that isn't fully developed squeezes in: Morgan is a Talk Show Host, of "Turn Me On", and (though she ineffectively conducts a full interview with Jack's alias, Master J(Dom) though she supposedly makes much to do about raising questions about the world of eroticism and kinkiness. So the plot goes on. It isn't very believable that this heroine is audacious enough to be a talk show host(aka: serious, investigative reporter/researcher) because she abandons her goal quite handily when faced with Jack Cole, and of course having to be protected from a stalker doesn't help. Already, this plot is incongruously thickened by tangents, which makes the saying "less is more" a very, very good piece of advice. Why do I say that? Well, Morgan is also an unwanted 1/2 sister of a Senator, who is on the path to the White House. This could have helped for a deeper look into Morgan as a character, BUT Noooo, this tidbit serves to tie her to her 1/2 brother Brandon Ross, hence equals full circle/ulterior motive and the reason for her introduction to Jack. [and I AM dizzy from it!] Enter Jack Cole, who the author spends the rest of the novel focusing on---he is the "chere" talking Cajun badboy with chocolate eyes, and he has a grandpere who encourages him to believe in his Louisiana mojo roots(this is also given some word time). Furthermore, the mystique of the backwater swamp tries to be another character(which shouldn't be romantic, but can be...)[What is this?...like three plots crashing together? [Can we say DIZZIER?] I wanted a focus. One link to Morgan's investigative forage into Jack is the relationship that unfolds between them evokes the question: Does fulfilling one's fantasies/desires lead to making one whole? Awwwwwww-my heart goes pitter pat. And this whole D/s world is interesting b/c desires are based in acts considered taboo, and that begs to measure what is too taboo or goes too far when real-life relationships are at stake. Anyway, it gets 2 stars from me, for effort, and 1/2 star for the extremely hot menage, which is easily the best sex scene. Too bad it is deflated by the hero declaring his love for the first time, which is SO played (yughhh!!!...hated that), and the heroine lets a tear slip and says it back, because he has given her the ultimate sacrifice, letting her do the dirty with another man. (NOT!). I just wasn't impressed, okay. This is one downside to writing reviews. I know to read for enjoyment but reviewing makes me take a closer look and I get cynical. LOL

She gets an interview to do research for the show about dominance and submission and hopes to get this guest she's going to interview on the show. She meets with a man named Jack Cole,he's known for being experienced as a Dominant/Alpha Hero, and at the same time is running away from a crazy stalker who's been following her.BUT....little does Morgan know,Jack is devious he knew what he was doing when arranging the meeting,he's out to to get revenge on someone from his past, that Morgan is close to. So everything fits perfectly when they meet and some crazy sadistic shooter ranges fire while their out for lunch. Then BAM! What do we know, Jack is also a bodyguard, which at first I didn't buy it,I just thought he was yet another male trying to get in Morgans panties for a present......I was wrong (well sorta),it was a darn shame too cause he is mighty fine! The sensual heat index between this couple was boiling, enfuego(crazy-hot)in my undies! Since Jack takes on the role of being Morgan's bodyguard. He takes her back to his place to keep her safe. Well, from everyone but him.....Kinky Stud Muffin! Jack has got it all planned out to have Morgan submit to him, which she enjoys with no questions asked (neither would I LOL!) His revenge is going terrific, except the part where he's not only attracted to Morgan, but his lustful revenge turns him too falling for and liking her.So in somehow someway everything he does will backfire, doesn't it always? Hehehe.... Jack looks towards his best friend Deke for help, being that they are best friends.Deke works in the department of investigations so he does what he can to find out who this stalker is and give Morgan a little piece of mind. If you ask me,it was a setup I tell you! Why would anyone do anything for free? Just to help out a friend? Highly unlikely. No complaints here though. It goes way beyond burning-up-the-pages-with-hot sex. When these three,Jack,Morgan and Deke connect (Literally) You can feel it from your head to your toes and everywhere in between! I don't remember how many times I thought I was catching a fever or hiding my flushed face around my family when reading these three, it was Scorching! The sex is downright dirty and wonderfully wild! Others would probably not like the fact that Jack uses Morgan for his own personnel uses to plot revenge, but I think,Oh well, everything happened for a reason, and I enjoyed it.Endure it and have fun with it,if you know what the novel is about, then you should already know what to expect.Wicked Ties is flat out about sex, submission and domination. Jack is a pretty tough Dominant male and Morgan is ah.....Morgan. LOL! She seemed a little too much like a Damsel in Distress. But I thought the characters were immensely likable and the story plot was enthralling.

This story was ok... I found the characters 'reflecting' too much, reiterating what they were thinking ALL THE TIME ..to the point where the story was getting boring for me. It took me a lot longer to finish this story than it normally would have, had the story had a better pace I would have gotten into it more. I loved Morgan and Jack together, and the whole idea of the stalker..but the writing was kinda lame for me. I so wanted to like this book!

Morgan is hiding out from a stalker and happens on Jack Cole, a super hunky body guard that awakens her submissive nature. OMG!! Jack Cole is one HAWT cajun!! He is for sure built to make a girls fantasies come true...even our darkest ones... I highly recommend this book!! As Jack says, it's Spec-f*cking-tacular!!! Fav scenes/quotes: "Shocked, cher? That's what submission is all about. Surrendering control utterly to someone else. Your privacy, your body, your pleasure." (Jack) "If you want something, cher, drop the towel. I want all of you, and I want you bare." (Jack) "I've thought about nothing all day long except tying you down and spending morning, noon, and night finding ways to make you come until you scream your throut raw, then beg for more." (Jack) "I'm here, cher, to fulfill every forbidden fantasy swimming in your mind." (Jack) "Please take me to your playroom and f*ck me as you see fit...Sir." (Morgan to Jack) "Dominance and submission can be a game or a way of life, depending on how seriously you play...the promise of pleasure can be every bit as arousing as the pleasure itself, maybe more." (Jack) "I'd tell you that you're what I've been searching for my whole life. I'd confess that I dreamed about you before I ever met you, and that the first time I got deep inside you, I think I knew that you were meant to be mine." (Jack) "Your wish is my command...sir." (Morgan to Jack)

Wicked Ties is the beginning of one of my favorite erotic series that has the perfect blend of romance, eroticism, amazing characters and suspense as well. Ms. Black will transport you to the swamps of Louisiana with these two, especially with the hot cajun Jack Cole. Morgan O'Malley has a stalker. She needs protection and only bodyguard Jack Cole can offer it. And as they find themselves sharing a small house while hiding out, their attraction for each other becomes impossible to control. But Jack doesn't want just a lover, he wants Morgan's submission, total and complete. He wants to be the one to see to her needs and to her pleasure, to have her complete trust. How can Morgan admit to him, or to herself, that she can do this? That she wants it, even needs it? Jack brings out desires in her she didn't know where hidden, and will test her and bring her to heights she never even thought possible. Jack's accent alone will have you melting at his feet! He doesn't make excuses for what he wants. He does have hidden intentions, and when he finally figures out he has true feelings for Morgan, nothing will keep him from her. "If you were expecting Prince Charming, I'm sorry. He's with his boyfriend."

I know its erotica and menage is perfectly normal for this gender, hence, I was feeling uncomfortable reading it because it was evident that Jack did not wanted to share Morgan with another man, although he did it himself in the past. But in this case Jack was emotionally involved and wanted Megan to keep to himself and I wish the author would choose that route..the book itself was hot enough to carry without the menage element..for me it took away something special between Jack and Megan..,I kn I know its erotica and menage is perfectly normal for this gender, hence, I was feeling uncomfortable reading it because it was evident that Jack did not wanted to share Morgan with another man, although he did it himself in the past. WHY MEGAN would want another man when she already had sexy delicious Jack? SHE IS BLIND!!! WHY can they be happy without the scarify? is it not enough? WHY their love had to be proven by sharing another man? Jack was hurting and so was I. What as huge let down! Without the menage scene it would have been 4 stars! I know for some its not a problem, but for me its a big factor and I wish I new this before reading this book.

THIS IS NOT A GENRE FOR ME, lol. I really did try to like it as so many other paranormal romance fans seem to enjoy it, but I just can't get to appreciate them. I do like the hot scenes, but if there's just NOTHING more to read about I get bored and everything just turns more and more of the same. This was by far the worst read I've found so far. I just couldn't find one little thing I liked. There was NO plot at all, just sex scene after sex scene and there was even nothing I could find "interes THIS IS NOT A GENRE FOR ME, lol. What got more into my nerves was the fact that the main characters would NOT STOP mentioning how in love they were, while they knew NOTHING about each other nor care to find out. I made a mistake picking this book to read, I had no idea what it was about. I'm not saying it's bad, don't use my review as an excuse to don't read it, just know that not because you enjoy paranormal romance or contemporary romance you will like this series as well.

I tried hard to like this book, since I went out and bought the entire series as well as two others of a similar style - all at once to the tune of $200 - I've had to read it over time, and pick up other books in between because of the relentless repetitiveness of what's happening in this one. Potentially intriguing characters get lost amid scenes of very non-erotic sexual activity. All in all, if you like a lot of sex with little emotional investment, you'll love this book - I can't say series, I tried hard to like this book, since I went out and bought the entire series as well as two others of a similar style - all at once to the tune of $200 - I've had to read it over time, and pick up other books in between because of the relentless repetitiveness of what's happening in this one. Shayla Black is good at what she does, but in small doses for this reader.

This book is terrible. If I am going to read a romance-type book, I expect it to consist of about 75% plot/relationship issues and 25% romance. This book was the inverse of that. And what little plot there is, makes no sense. As for the romance, I actually skipped over a couple of chapters because it was BORING me. Do not recommend.

Ok... this book was a first for me. I have read some very erotic books before, but this one was in a whole different league! I was, up until reading this book, an Erotica virgin, but Wicked Ties has officially deflowered me. I feel like I have been rode hard and put up wet... 4 wicked stars!! A stalker is after Morgan, a talk-show host, and she ends up in the arms of Jack, a bodyguard who also happens to be a Dom. Jack has a plan to dominate Morgan, she is willful and resistant but in her mind Jack's game is exactly what she wants. Morgan has some secret fantasies and Jack is more than capable of making all those fantasies a reality and it left me with my mouth hanging open! Jack has a "playroom" that sounded more like a medieval torture chamber to me, but hey, whatever floats your boat! Jack is a very sexy alpha male, he was dominate but very tender and loving at the same time. I really liked him and found myself thinking that he could command me to do whatever he wanted me to do and I'd be shouting "Yes, sir" oh so obediently!! Oh, and did I mention that he has a friend? Deke... more male yumminess wrapped up in a tight, hard body... I think I'll be looking for his book Decadent straight away! I really only have two complaints about this book. Morgan... I actually wasn't all that fond of her, I didn't hate her or anything like that, she just was an ok kind of heroine to me. But Jack more than made up for her shortcomings! Secondly the end of the book was waaaaayy too abrupt! You hit the climax of the story, then there is the resolution but then it just ends! No epilogue... just ends! I like an ending that is just a bit more warm and fuzzy, but that being said it didn't ruin the whole book for me, just left me panting for more... so off I go to find Decadent! ***WARNING!! EXPLICIT LANGUAGE AND SEXUAL DETAILS***

Even though she has a successful sex-themed talk show, Morgan is completely out of touch with her own desires and needs, and she doesn't know what Dominance and submission really is (sure, that is credible). Naturally, she is attracted to Master J and aghast at her response to him (secret desire). Morgan's unidentified mad stalker shoots at her from across the street, and Morgan and Master J flee on foot from the café while the shooter pursues them, continuing to shoot at them. They duck into a strip club where Master J knows everyone. Does anyone call the police at this point? or even Master J's bodyguard cohort? No, they have the brilliant idea that to save Morgan she must masquerade as a stripper so that she can leave the club undetected by the stalker but with Master J--who the stalker saw her go in with. And it cannot be just any stripper; she must be a specific stripper (why????) who is on a friends-with-benefits basis with Master J. Not only must Morgan look like Master J's stripper friend, but she must be willing to submit to public sex acts with him so they can convince everyone in the bar that she is really the stripper before they slip away. Come on. Really???? I think my IQ just dropped 10 points... DNF in chapter 2.

That's it. I can't take it anymore. Not only does the idiotic male lead constantly calls the stupid heroine "Cher," which is supposed to mean "Dear" in French, he is utterly incapable of understanding that no means no. I won't expend on this because I'm liable to go on a killing spree, but FUCK NO. Second point: the French. Again, IT'S NOT THAT HARD TO DO YOUR FUCKING RESEARCH AND ASK SOMEONE WHO ACTUALLY SPEAKS FRENCH HOW TO SAY SOMETHING. And Google Translate doesn't count, for fuck's sake. No, "Cher" doesn't mean "dear". It only does if you're talking to a male, and you still need a word after that. Either a name or a noun or whatever, but NOT "Cher" alone. For your information, dear Shayla Black, you would've needed the hero to call her "Chérie." Because she's a fucking girl. A few other examples for my fellow French: Cher, tu sens si douce. No, it doesn't mean you feel so good. It means NOTHING. L'aide de ciel me. I can't even.

DNF! Too much suspension of disbelief required. Just a ludicrous amount. I am not going to tag this review with spoilers because, whilst it discusses the first chapter or so in detail, that doesn't really reveal much of the plot beyond the blurb, but gives an indication of just how preposterous Black's books are. So the book starts with Morgan meeting Jack in a coffee shop where, ostensibly, her stalker has found her and starts wildly shooting at her. Jack and Morgan flee through many alleys and side streets but the shooter is Frank Castle or something, because he manages to stick with them, over rooftops taking pot shots all the way. They seek refuge in a strip club but need to find a way to leave it so they can get to safety. Now, I get this is set in America, the gun capital of the world, but if my newsfeed is anything to go by, someone firing wildly in the middle of a crowded area still attracts police interest. So the obvious route, surely, is to call the police, they respond by closing down the area with massive police presence until the gunman is found. If nothing else, all those police officers will certainly dissuade shooter from another try. No, this most obvious route is not the one taken, for reasons that stretch belief so thin its in danger of snapping, Morgan has to disguise herself as a stripper (Black has clearly been taking tips from Michael Bay) and pass herself off as Jack’s past lover. To do this he has to sleaze all over her until she's comfortable with his touch... all just so they can walk through a strip club and get in a car. When asked to explain this Jack points out that if she flinches every time he touches her it will be evident she's not a stripper and people will get suspicious. So what?! They don't know who she is, they don't know some stalker is out there willing to pay money to find her so the most they'll do is shrug and turn their attention back to the strippers onstage. Ladies, word of advice, if you're in a situation where you're being shot at and some guy claims he's a professional bodyguard who can protect you, then comes up with a hare brained scheme that involves dressing up as a stripper, ask for references.

This is the kinda book that you almost have to read in one sitting, because once it starts there literally is no good place to put your bookmark in and say "I'll come back to this later"....seriously even if your house was on fire, you'd probably not even notice. From the first sentence in the book, it had me hooked. I read this book in my bathroom till 12:30 in the morning, at the stoplights on the way to work the next day, and snuck every min away I could (on Easter w/ my family) to go read this book so I could see how it would play out. It didn't disappoint! For those of you who have read this book can understand when I say "HELLOOOOO DEKE!!" This book would be a great book for a "discussion group". Since it brings up some pretty interesting (to say the least). Now, I'm giving this book 5 stars b/c of the SEX! hot, hot, hot...The connection between all of the characters was very believable, Morgans struggle with the situation with Jack seemed pretty realistic as far as her struggles with what was happening. BUT..... I'm giving this book 3 1/2 - 4 stars for the "soap opera" drama that occured towards the end of the book. Up until the point where the whole Brandon/Andrew coming to the hotel room came, I was really impressed. Granted there was some "choppy dialog here are there throughout. But, there are three military/soldier/bodyguards in the room w/ 1 tiny chick...and Morgan still gets shot! Come On...really. I'm definately recommending this book to anyone who loves a hot steamy storyline.....this story isn't for the modest, so keep in mind the whole story revolves around BDSM sex, but it truly is tastefully and erotically done. I am eagerly awaiting to read the next books in this series.

Pre-review***I am about 100 pages into the book. I am loving how Shayla Black writes. She definately, imho, knows how to create the delicious wicked thoughts of someone with dark fantasies they want to come to life and a man more than willing to make them submit. My only hang-up is believablity. The plot is second to great character development/chemistry BUT its annoying to have it keep popping up to ruin such an otherwise perfect romantica. The interaction between Jack and Morgan is all you'll be interested in. Sometimes I like a good backstory but when the characters are so darn hot, who gives a flying hoot! NOW: that I am have finished the book I must say that I would definately pick up another Shayla Black book, but not to soon if it's as heavy as this one. Jack (Dom) wanted Morgan to admit her submissive feelings. His admitted yes he wanted to sleep with her but more important that she needed to know what she truly liked in the bedroom to find ultimate pleasure. Morgan annoyed me with the fact that she wouldn't except the fact that she was even curious about D/s play when she was so turned on by everything she saw and heard Jack do. But then I realized that she was very repressed and that was the reason she denied her sexuality for so long. I don't know if I reviewed this book well. It'd take longer to explain the dynamics of the characters the way I saw the growth and change. I am not sure why I keep reading bondage sex erotica when I don't personally find it a turn-on. I've only read the books b/c I wanted to read more by the author or by recommendation. Thankfully they have been well written and entertaining and not just about the sex. I don't know what's it's called but if I can't connect on a mental level with the characters no matter how small or briefly the story loses points. The first encounter, the build-up to that has to be the best suspense ever! When the characters really have your heart.
